Kyllian Mbappe: Monaco ‘accepts’ Real Madrid’s record bid
Kylian Mbappe |
Spanish sports publication Marca said Monaco have accepted Real Madrid’s bid of £161 million for the teenager. But French newspapers Le Parisien and Nice Matin said Monaco had denied the report.
Both Arsenal and Real Madrid were the leading contenders willing to acquire the service of the French striker but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, who was believed to have held a one-on-one meeting with the player, pulled out of the race.
The 18-year-old scored six goals in ten Champions League outings and 15 in Ligue 1 as he exploded onto the scene in the second half of last season, and has been constantly linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain, amongst others.
