Woman arrested in the US for smuggling packages of heroin attached to buttocks
An Arizona woman tried to smuggle three pounds of heroin in her pants,
officials said. The 47-year-old Nogales, Arizona, resident tried to
return to the U.S. from Mexico at a pedestrian border crossing Tuesday
with the drugs, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said. She attempted
to hide the heroin, worth more than $45,000, in the back of her pants,
officials said.
On a typical day, Customs and Border Protection seize 7,910 pounds of drugs, according to the agency. According to the press release on the CBP website, during her attempt to enter the US, Nogales was referred for further inspection where she was found to be carrying three pounds of heroin, all strapped to her behind.
