The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, yesterday paid the bill for the kidney transplant operation of 22-year-old Nayif Ismail who has been on admission at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, AKTH, Kano. The monarch took pity on Ismail who is a Quaranic teacher and paid his bill when he paid a visit to the hospital yesterday. Ismail has been battling with severe kidney disease for two years. The monarch ordered the chief medical director of the hospital to facilitate immediate transfer of the patient to the teaching hospital for commencement of the surgery. “We have made all arrangements for his surgery at AKTH. You should please transfer him immediately to the hospital for the commencement of the operation,” he said Despite his critical health condition, Ismail presented a gift of Holy Qur’an to the emir in appreciation

A Zambian man named Hagra Tembo on Facebook shared this shocking video of a corpse that refused to buried until it took villagers to the resident of its killer. According to his caption, he wrote: 'A body refused to be buried until it took villagers to a house where the person behind the death of the deceased resides' In the video, the villagers were all shocked when the undertakers were seemingly being controlled by the corpse who turned them round until it led them to its killer's house. Halimat, the second daughter and last child of former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida aka IBB, will on Friday May 12th, get married to her man, Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi. The wedding will take place at his hilltop mansion in Minna, the Niger state capital. Halimat is the last child of IBB's late wife and former first lady, Maryam Bbangida. Her groom is said to be a businessman and holds the traditional title of Sarkin Sudan Gombe. Congrats to them! 

Davido offers to help his namesake 'David Adeleke' with tuition fees

Davido who recently welcomed his newborn daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke has offered to pay the tuition fee of his namesake, David Adeleke, who appears to be a journalist. David who has been accepted for a media workshop at Yale University had gone to Twitter to seek for financial support from friends to raise about $3,500 for his tuition fee. Upon stumbling on the post, the 'If' singer who spotted that he was bearing same name with the journalist, decided to help him out with the fee

High school student arrives junior prom in a casket

Prom is a big deal to the kids in the West but isn't this too much? 17-year-old Megan Flaherty of New Jersey arrived at her prom lying flat in an open coffin to the surprise of many. Megan was driven in a hearse into Pennsauken High School for the junior prom which held on Saturday . On arrival, classmates of Megan were shocked to see the back of the vehicle open and a coffin was brought out with Megan lying flat on her back in it. She was helped out by her date and the hearse driver after which she stood looking self-assured in a navy blue tube dress.  In the video of her arrival, Megan stepped out of the coffin and smiled mischievously as other prom goers look on in amazement. She later revealed that she checked with her date to make sure he had no reservations about her plans. Man hacks his mother to death at their home in Cameroon (graphic photos)

A man butchered his mother at their home in Kimba Cameroon on Tuesday . The mother appeared to have been reading a bible when the brutal attack occurred as can be seen from the position of the bible sitting beside her. Soon after the attack, members of the community gathered at the home of the victim where they roughed up the suspect, who is believed to be mentally challenged based on his conduct during questioning. He neither denied nor accepted the crime but simply sat, staring into space like he was lost. In another video taken inside the house with the victim's bloodied corpse in view, different voices can be heard in the background screaming "Jesus".  No uniformed men were seen in the video and it seemed the mob were prepared to take laws into their hands.

Moon Jae-in sworn in as South Korea's new president

South Korea has a new President, Moon Jae-in who was sworn in yesterday after his victory at the recently held elections. In his inaugural address, he vowed to address the economy and relations with the North saying that he would even be willing to visit Pyongyang under the right circumstances.  Mr Moon took his oath of office in Seoul's National Assembly building a day after his decisive win. The former human rights lawyer and son of North Korean refugees is known for his liberal views.  He has also vowed to unify a divided country reeling from a corruption scandal which saw his predecessor, Park Geun-hye, impeached a few months back.

Governor Kashim Shettima on Tuesday led key stake-holders and elders from Chibok ‎community to the DSS Medical Centre where the Governor’s delegation met with the 82 schoolgirls freed by Boko Haram three years after their violent abduction at Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in April, 2014. The Governor’s wife, Nana Shettima was also at the centre to meet the girls. Shettima's delegation included the District head of Chibok, prominent elders, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume representing Borno South, lawmakers at the House of Reps and Borno State Assembly representing Chibok and other Government officials from Chibok community.
