LIVERPOOL REJECT FRESH €125M OFFER FROM BARCELONA FOR COUTINHO AND MAINTAIN HE'S NOT FOR SALE


The 25-year-old submitted a transfer request last week and the Catalans made a third offer for the Brazilian, but the Reds will not sanction his exit
Liverpool have immediately rebuffed a €125 million offer from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho, reiterating their “definitive stance” that the player is not on the market this summer.
It was the third formal proposal the Catalan club have tabled for the Brazil international, who submitted a transfer request that was rejected last week Friday.
As with the previous bids of £72m and £90m, the Reds made clear their unwillingness to do business by refusing to consider the approaches as spelled out in a statement from Fenway Sports Group.
The Merseysiders insist, as per that strong message from the owners, that the 25-year-old will “remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”

Emmanuel Macron vows unity after winning French presidential election

The pro-EU centrist Emmanuel Macron has vowed to unite a divided and fractured France after winning a decisive victory over the far-right Front National candidate Marine Le Pen in the country’s presidential election. Macron, 39, a former economy minister who ran as a “neither left nor right” independent promising to shake up the French political system, took 66% to Le Pen’s 34%. His victory was hailed by his supporters as holding back a tide of populism after the Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s victory in the US election. Addressing thousands of supporters in the grand courtyard of the Louvre, the vast Paris palace-turned-museum, Macron said he would defend France and Europe. He said Europe and the world are “watching us” and “waiting for us to defend the spirit of the Enlightenment, threatened in so many places”. The Bauchi State Police Command on Wednesday paraded suspected armed robbers arrested in various part of the state.
